Sounders Hold Off Timbers In Cascadia Cup Clash

At Seattle:

Obafemi Martins (6') and Brad Evans (PK-42') each scored a goal as the Seattle Sounders---playing in front of a club record 64,358 fans at CenturyLink Field---held off the visiting Portland Timbers 2-1 in a Sunday Major League Soccer contest that was also a Cascadia Cup clash.

Jack Jewsbury scored the Timbers' lone goal in the 58th minute.

Next up for Portland, an encounter at home on Wednesday, September 9 against Sporting Kansas City at 7:30 PM, Pacific Time (KPTV, Portland, and other Timbers broadcast affiliates).

Timbers Settle For 1-1 Cascadia Cup Home Draw With Caps

At Portland, Oregon:

Mathias Laba delivered the equalizer in the 58th minute on Saturday as the Vancouver Whitecaps came back to gain a 1-1 Cascadia Cup road draw with the Portland Timbers, whose Diego Valeri scored in the 34th minute.

The Timbers' next match will be on the road in Frisco, Texas against FC Dallas next Saturday night a 6:00 PM Pacific Time (ROOT Sports Northwest).

Fanendomania Returns As Timbers Bounce Back To Overpower Sounders In Cascadia Cup Clash

At Portland, Oregon:

Fanendo Adi scored twice in a two-minute stretch in the second half (74', 76') on Sunday as the Portland Timbers came back from their mid-weed embarrassment at the StubHub Center and dominated the visiting Seattle Sounds 4-1 in a Major League Soccer----and Cascadia Cup----contest.

Darlington Nagbe (12') and Rodney Wallace (90'+1) each added a goal to the Timbers' coffers.

Portland's next game is a US Open Cup Round-of-16 road clash with Real Salt Lake at Sandy, Utah on Wednesday (7:00 PM Pacific Time).

Next Sunday, the Timbers will host the San Jose Earthquakes in their next MLS encounter, which will start at 2:00 PM Pacific Time and will be televised by ESPN 2.

Darlington Nagbe's penalty kick in the 31st minute hit the right post on Saturday as the Portland Timbers settled for a 0-0 home stalemate with the Vancouver Whitecaps in Major League Soccer (and Cascadia Cup) action.

The Timbers will next travel to Montreal for a match with the Impact next Saturday at 1:00 PM, Pacific Time (ROOT Sports Northwest).

Thanks To Deuce, Sounders Sink Timbers In Cascadia Cup Clash

At Seattle:

Clint Dempsey scored the only goal of the match in the 77th minute on Sunday as the Seattle Sounders defeated the Portland Timbers 1-0 in a Major League Soccer contest that was also a Cascadia Cup contest.

The Timbers will host the Western Conference-leading Vancouver Whitecaps this coming Saturday in another Cascadia Cup match at 7:30 PM (ROOT Sports Northwest).

Stoppage-Time Goal Lifts Caps Over Timbers In Cascadia Cup Opener

At Vancouver, British Columbia:

Late substitute Robert Earnshaw netted the game winner in the opening minute of second-half stoppage time as the Vancouver Whitecaps defeated the visiting Portland Timbers 2-1 in Saturday Major League Soccer action.

The contest was the opening match of this year's Cascadia Cup competition.

The Timbers will host FC Dallas next Saturday night at 7:30 PM, Pacific Time (ROOT Sports Northwest).
