At Portland, Oregon:
Cristhian Paredes scored twice (37', 81') while Diego Valeri (41') and Jeremy Ebobisse (88') each tallied once as the Portland Timbers demolished the ten-man Los Angeles Galaxy 4-0 at home in Saturday night Major League Soccer action.
This marked the Timbers first victory in a match without the suspended Diego Chara in league play (regular season or postseason) since July 5, 2015.
Goalkeeper Steve Clark racked up his fourth MLS shutout of the season with a spectacular six-save performance.
The Galaxy's Efrain Alvarez was ejected via a straight red card.
The Timbers' next match is on Sunday, August 4th as they visit Minnesota United FC at St. Paul at 1:00 PM Pacific Time (ESPN).
