At Portland, Oregon:
Brian Fernandez came through once again for the Portland Timbers on Sunday night as his 42nd-minute goal lifted the hosts to a 1-0 Major League Soccer victory over FC Dallas.
He became the first player in MLS history to score at least once in each of his first five games.
Goalkeeper Steve Clark made two saves to preserve the shutout and victory.
The Timbers' next contest will be next Sunday in the Bronx against New York City at 3:30 PM Pacific Time (Fox Sports 1).
