At Dayton, Ohio:
The NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament commenced on Tuesday with two games played at University of Dayton Arena.
Game #1:
Darnell Edge scored 33 points while Jahlil Jenkins added 22 as the Fairleigh Dickinson Knights (21-13) picked up their first-ever NCAA Tournament victory, 82-76 over the Prairie View A&M Panthers (22-13).
The Panthers were paced by Gary Blackston's 26 points.
The Knights, as the West Region's #16 seed, will face top-seeded Gonzaga on Thursday in Salt Lake City.
Game #2:
Kevin McClain scored 29 points as the Belmont Bruins (27-5) overtook the Temple Owls (23-10) 82-10.
Shizz Alston, Jr. topped the Owls with 21 points.
The Bruins, as the East Region's #11 seed, will battled #6-seeded Maryland in Jacksonville, Florida on Thursday.
