NLCS: GIANTS ANNIHILATE CARDINALS TO BOUNCE BACK FROM 3-1 SERIES DEFICIT TO WIN NL PENNANT; HOST TIGERS IN WORLD SERIES OPENER WEDNESDAY

At San Francisco:

Matt Cain pitched 5 2/3 innings of five-hit shutout ball while series Most Valuable Player Marco Scutaro  produced his sixth multi-hit game of the series and Brandon Belt hit a home run as the San Francisco Giants, who scored five runs in the third inning, roasted the St. Louis Cardinals 9-0 on Monday night in winning game seven of the National League Championship Series and captured their second pennant in three years.  The Giants won their record-tying sixth consecutive elimination game.  They will host the Detroit Tigers in the opening game of the World Series on Wednesday.
