NFL Playoffs: Ravens Pull Away From Chiefs In Second Half; Aaron Rodgers Throws For Three TDs As Packers Pluck Eagles

The opening round of the National Football League playoffs concluded with two Sunday contests.

At Kansas City:

With their defense coming up with three sacks of quarterback Matt Cassel, and with their own QB Joe Sacco throwing for two touchdowns, the Baltimore Ravens dominated the Kansas City Chiefs 30-7 on the road in an AFC opening round match.  The loss was the Chiefs' seventh straight playoff setback, an NFL record.

At Philadelphia:

Aaron Rodgers threw for three touchdowns, and James Starks ran for 123 yards as the Green Bay Packers knocked off the homestanding Philadelphia Eagles 21-16.  Defensive back Tramon Williams iced the NFC opening round playoff game for the Packers with his end zone interception of a Michael Vick pass with 33 seconds remaining.

AFC:

Baltimore at Pittsburgh, 1:30 PM, CBS

The Ravens and Steelers, two AFC North Division rivals, split the regular-season series between them winning one game apiece at the other team's stadium. Baltimore took game one at Pittsburgh on October 3, 17-14, while Pittsburgh took the rematch at Baltimore on December 5, 13-10.

NFC:

Green Bay at Atlanta, 5:00 PM, FOX

Back on November 28, the Falcons beat the visiting Packers 20-17.

Sunday:

NFC:

Seattle at Chicago, 10:00 AM, FOX

The Seahawks knocked off the Bears in Chicago 23-20 on October 17.

AFC:

New York Jets at New England, 1:30 PM, CBS

The Jets and Patriots, two AFC East Division rivals, split their two-game season series, each winning at home.  The Jets took game one at home 28-14 on September 19 at East Rutherford, New Jersey.  The Patriots got their revenge at Foxborough, Massachusetts on December 6, horse whipping the Jets 45-3.
