Balanced Attack Helps Beavers Overcome 16-Point First Half Deficit And Overtake Gauchos

Jamal Reid scored 16 points while Gary Payton II and Olaf Schaftenaar each added 14 as the Oregon State Beavers (9-3), with six players scoring in double-figures, overcame a 16-point first half deficit and defeated the visiting UC-Santa Barbara Gauchos (5-7) 76-64 on Tuesday night.
The Beavers will travel to Eugene for a Civil War clash against the Oregon Ducks on Saturday in the Pac-12 Conference opener for both schools.

Joseph Young scored 25 points while Jalil Abdul-Bassit added 20 (scoring the game's final seven points) as the Oregon Ducks (9-3) held off the visiting UC-Santa Babara Gauchos (5-6) 82-78 in overtime on Monday. Alan Williams led the Gauchos with 26 points (and grabbed 12 rebounds as he registered his 40th career double-double) while Michael Bryson added 21.

Orlando Johnson scored 26 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as UC-Santa Barbara (4-0) maintained their perfect start to the season following their 83-69 home win on Tuesday night over the Portland Pilots (2-3). Jaime Sena also had a double-double (15 points, 10 rebounds) for the Gauchos while James Nunnally added 22 points to the UCSB coffers. Ryan Nicholas led the visiting Pilots with 16 points.
