This Is Wheat Chex??

Here's a box of Shredded Ralston cereal that probably dates back to the 40s.

Here's An Old Cereal Box

From circa 1950 or '51, here's a box of Shredded Ralston with Elizabeth Taylor on the front. This was to help promote the MGM movie that she, Spencer Tracy, and Joan Bennett starred in, the original version of "Father of the Bride."  This was right before the name of the cereal was changed to Wheat Chex.

Before There Was Wheat Chex....

There was Shredded Ralston (the name was changed to Wheat Chex around 1951, around the time that Rice Chex was introduced). Here's a 1945 magazine ad featuring a letter from singer Morton Downey.
