Here's a pioneering honky tonk recording as provided by Al Dexter and his Troopers, a tune entitled "Honky Tonk Blues."



It was recorded on November 28, 1936 in San Antonio, Texas and released on Vocalion Records(as well as fellow ARC label Melotone)  in March, 1937.

Al Dexter is best remembered for his 1940s hit "Pistol Packin' Mama."
