TIme For Early TV With Bob Hope!

From Easter Sunday (April 9), 1950, here's Bob Hope starring in his first television special, Star Spangled Revue.  Joining Bob are Beatrice Lille, Douglas Fairbanks, Jr., Dinah Shore, Hal Le Roy, Maurice Rocco, Walter Greaza, David Burns, Carl Reiner, Dan Liberto and Gloria Patrice, The Look Magazine Cover Girls, The Mexico City Boys Choir, and Wendell Niles.  This NBC special, sponsored by General Motors' Frigidaire division, was directed by Hal Keith and produced by Max Liebman.

Time For Really Early TV

Here is, I believe, a kinescope of the April 22, 1949 telecast of the Admiral Broadway Revue, which aired simultaneously over the NBC and DuMont networks.  It was a forerunner of the more successful and classic Your Show of Shows which began airing on NBC in 1950.  The show starred Sid Caesar with Mary McCarty, Imogene Coca, and Marge and Gower Champion.  Produced by directed by Max Liebman, who later produced and directed YSOS.

Time For A Visit From Uncle Miltie

Here's a kinescope of the November 5, 1958 NBC Network telecast of the Kraft Music Hall hosted by Milton Berle.  Andy Griffith was Milton's special guest.  Complete with commercials for Kraft Foods.

End Of An Era

After some 30 years as an analyst for all of the big four broadcast networks, former Oakland Raiders hall of fame coach John Madden has called it a career.

Cris Collinsworth has been tapped to suceed coach Madden as Al Michaels' Sunday night broadcast partner on NBC.

Now Here's Something Different

Here is the opening title for a Saturday morning cartoon show that aired on NBC from 1969 to 1971. DePatie-Freleng Enterprises (which produced the Pink Panther cartoons) produced this show. I have some vague memories of this series.
