Mike Nichols, who directed such noted motion pictures as "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" and "The Graduate" and who was the husband of recently-retired ABC evening news anchorwoman Diane Sawyer, passed away on Wednesday in Manhattan at age 83.
