Norberto Paparatto scored twice in the second half on Tuesday night (61', 88') as the Portland Timbers destroyed visiting Alpha United 6-0 in CONCACAF Champions League group-stage play. The Timbers, currently atop the Group Five standings, now need only a draw (or even a one-goal loss) in Honduras on October 21 against CD Olimpia to advance to the tournament's knockout stage.
Portland's next Major League Soccer match is on Saturday at 10:00 AM Pacific Time on the road against Toronto FC (ROOT Sports Northwest).

Timbers Cruise To Easy CCL Win In Guyana
At Providence, Guyana:
Steve Zakuani (18'), Maximiliano Uttuti (34'), Fanendo Adi (66'), and Alvas Powell (83') each scored once on Tuesday as the Portland Timbers opened up CONCACAF Champions League Group Five play with a 4-1 road domination of Alpha United FC.
The Timbers' next match is a Major League Soccer Cascadia Cup clash at home against the Seattle Sounders (2:00 PM Pacific Time, ESPN 2).
Portland's next CCL contest is on September 16 at home against CD Olimpia of Honduras at 7:00 PM Pacific Time.
