The semifinal round of the NCAA Men's Basketball
Tournament's West Regional was played on Thursday with both games contested at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
In the opener, Sam Dekker scored 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds while Frank Kaminsky added 19 and eight respectively as the top-seeded Wisconsin Badgers (34-3) came from behind to upend the fourth-seeded North Carolina Tar Heels (26-12) 79-72.
In the nightcap, T.J. McConnell scored 13 of his 17 points in the second half as the second-seeded Arizona Wildcats (34-3) overcame a second-half deficit by going on a game-ending 19-7 run and upended the sixth-seeded Xavier Musketeers (23-14) 68-60.
Arizona and Wisconsin will face each other in Saturday's West Regional Final in Los Angeles with the winner advancing to the Final Four at Indianapolis.

NCAA West: Badgers Bounce Ducks, Get Shot At Tar heels Next
At Omaha, Nebraska:
In the lone Sunday NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament West Regional contest, Sam Dekker scored 17 points while Frank Kaminsky added 16 as the top-seeded Wisconsin Badgers (33-3) held off eighth-seeded Oregon (26-10). Joseph Young scored 30 points in his final game in a Ducks uniform.

NCAA West: Zona, Musketeers, Heels Advance To Sweet Sixteen
Saturday saw three third-round games in the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament's West Region.
At Portland, Oregon:
T.J. McConnell and Gabe York (who converted five three-point shots) each scored 19 points as the second-seeded Arizona Wildcats (33-3) defeated the tenth-seeded Ohio State Buckeyes (24-11) 73-58.
At Jacksonville, Florida:
Jalen Reynolds scored 21 points as the sixth-seeded Xavier Musketeers (23-13) outlasted fourteenth-seeded Georgia State (25-10) 75-67. R.J. Hunter, the hero of the Panthers' Thursday upset victory over Baylor, paced the Sun Belt Conference champs with 20 points.
Marcus Paige scored 20 of his 22 points in the second half as the fourth-seeded North Carolina Tar Heels (26-11) locked up their 26th Sweet-Sixteen appearance with an 87-78 victory over the fifth-seeded Arkansas Razorbacks (27-9) despite 27 points and 10 rebounds from the Hogs' Michael Qualls.

Second-round action in the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament's West Region concluded on Friday with two games, both contested at Omaha, Nebraska.
In the opener, Joseph Young scored 27 points as the eighth-seeded Oregon Ducks (26-9) defeated the ninth-seeded Oklahoma State Cowboys (18-14) 79-73.
In the nightcap, Frank Kaminsky scored 27 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as the top-seeded Wisconsin Badgers (32-3) defeated sixteenth-seeded Coastal Carolina (24-10) 86-72. Warren Gillis scored 22 points and Elijah Wilson added 20 to pace the Chanticleers.

NCAA West: Panthers Knock Off Baylor With Late Three-Pointer; Zona Too Much For Tigers; Buckeyes KO Rams In OT; Heels Survive Scare From Harvard; Razorbacks Edge Pesky Terriers
Six games were played in the West Region of the NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament as second-round action commenced on Thursday.
At Jacksonville, Florida:
In the opening contest, R.J. Hunter, who scored 16 points, converted the game-winning three-point shot with 2.7 seconds remaining as the #14-seeded Georgia State Panthers (25-9) shocked the third-seeded Baylor Bears (24-10) 57-56, despite 18 points and 15 rebounds from the Bears' Taurean Prince.
Matt Stainbrook scored 20 points while Dee Davis added 17 as the sixth-seeded Xavier Musketeers (22-13) defeated the eleventh-seeded Ole Miss Rebels (21-13) 76-57.
Justin Jackson, who scored 14 points, delivered a game-tying jump shot in the final minute, then delivered a decisive fast-break dunk as the third-seeded North Carolina Tar Heels (25-11) outslugged fourteenth-seeded Harvard (22-8) 67-65, offsetting a 26-point performance from the Crimson's Wesley Saunders.
Michael Qualls scored 20 points as the fifth-seeded Arkansas Razorbacks (27-8) escaped with a 56-53 victory over the 12th-seeded Wofford Terriers (28-7).

In the second game, tenth seeded Ohio State (24-10) defeated seventh-seeded Virginia Commonwealth (26-10) 75-72 in overtime. D'Angelo Russell paced the Buckeyes with 28 points.
