Defenseman Zarek Valentin was selected from the Portland Timbers by Nashville SC in Tuesday's Major League Soccer Expansion Draft---he would eventually be traded to the Houston Dynamo for goalkeeper Joe Wills.
Meanwhile, a former Timber, Alvas Powell, a fellow defender, was chosen in the same draft by fellow expanionists Inter Milan CF.
