At Portland, Oregon:

In Sunday Major League Soccer action, Diego Valeri (PK-4), Jack McInerney (29'), Dairon Asprilla (PK-78'), and Darlington Nagbe (82') each scored once as the Portland Timbers doubled up the visiting Vancouver Whitecaps (4-2) in a Cascadia Cup contest as the hosts snapped a three-game losing skid.

The Timbers will next travel to Bridgeview, Illinois for an encounter this coming Saturday (at 5:30 PM Pacific Time over the Timbers' broadcast television network through Portland's KDPX) against the Chicago Fire.
