Baseball legend Stan Musial, who spent his entire 22-year Hall of Fame career with the St. Louis Cardinals, passed away on Saturday at the age of 92.
Although he actually started his professional career as a minor-league pitcher, an injury forced Mr. Musial to become a full-time hitter (and outfielder).
And what a hitter Stan the Man was, as he collected 3,630 career base hits (1,815 each at home and on the road), 475 home runs, and a .331 batting average.
Stan was a three-time National League Most Valuable Player and a 20-time All-Star.
In 1969, Stan was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame, with his name included on 93.2% of the ballots.
Rest in peace, Stan the Man.
